Everything Travelers Need to Prepare For

The European Entry/Exit System is a border check for non-EU nationals travelling to the Schengen area of 29 European countries for short stays. It is a way of making travel to Europe more efficient and secure. The new Entry/Exit System will commence operations on 12 October 2025.

The Entry/Exit System (EES), a digital border control mechanism that replaces traditional passport stamping for non-EU nationals. The move marks a major shift in how travellers are processed at Schengen and other external EU borders. Instead of manual checks, visitors will now undergo biometric registration and have their travel details stored electronically.

Travelers’ fingerprints, facial image, passport details, and entry and exit dates will be collected and stored digitally.
